How Sleeping with an Eye Mask Has Changed My Life

I used to think that sleeping with an eye mask was weird. I mean, I’m at home not on some transatlantic flight… who does that?

Only old people and insomniacs, right? Wrong.

I recently discovered the joys of sleeping with an eye mask, and let me tell you, it has changed my life. Here’s how.

Before I started wearing a sleep mask, I was one of those people who thought that sleep was overrated.

I would stay up late into the night watching TV, browsing the internet, or working on projects, and then I would drag myself out of bed in the morning, drink a double shot of espresso and feel like I was ready to face the day.

I didn’t understand why everyone made such a big deal out of getting a good night’s sleep; I mean, weren’t we all just wasting time when we could be doing something productive?

But then something started happening… I started getting lightheaded at work and lost focus all the time. Even my workouts started to feel like a chore and I noticed the puffiness under my eyes was a lot harder to get rid of.

There were days when my skin looked so bad I even had to cancel dates I was looking forward to.

Obviously, my self confidence didn’t like any of this and I quickly learned that sleep is not a waste of time. In fact, it’s incredibly important for your health and well-being.

Lack of sleep can lead to a whole host of problems, including heart disease, depression, anxiety, weight gain, and more. Getting enough sleep is essential for maintaining a healthy mind and body, and I knew that if I wanted to be happy and healthy, I needed to make some changes.

That’s when I decided to give sleeping with an eye mask a try.

Now that I’ve been sleeping with an eye mask for a few weeks, I can honestly say that it has changed my life.

For starters, I’m finally getting the rest that I need. By blocking out all the light in my bedroom, my eye mask helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. As a result, I have more energy during the day and I’m better able to focus on the tasks at hand.

Also, I’m sure I’m not alone here but I’ve always had difficulty falling asleep and often spend hours tossing and turning in bed before drifting off. That was the case until this little eye mask experiment.

Now, my body seems to know it’s time for sleep as soon I slip down my silk mask — I can almost feel it calming down my thoughts as soon as the light is blocked out.

Wearing my eye mask has given me back those precious hours of sleep that felt like they were being stolen from me each night.

In addition to helping me get more restful sleep, wearing an eye mask has also done wonders for my skin.

When you don’t get enough sleep, it shows on your face; you look tired, your skin is dull, and you may even develop dark circles under your eyes. It even contributes to faster aging of your skin.

Oh! And another thing.
